Gemory, Photos on Diamonds?
I`ve seen companies that laser inscribe your personal message on a diamond. Now a company called Gemory says they can put your favorite photo on a diamond. As the press release describes it: "the patent-pending PureDiamond[TM] process from Gemory uses nanotechnology to inscribe photos in high resolution on the surface of any diamond, pearl or other gem." They say the photo is "microscopic and invisible to the naked eye" but can be seen through the GemmaView[TM], Gemory`s proprietary portable viewing device.

Roland Piquepaille writing for ZDNet has expressed his skepticism about the company and I have to agree that the company does seems a bit strange. Especially the idea that the Gemory technology is able to make the photos non-invasive and yet last forever on the diamond and that the picture can be removed without harming the stone.

Gemory will soon be offering an auction on eBay for a 2.5 carat diamond with your favorite photograph on it. There is a short video on their website about the auction.
